“This is my first painting of 2023. Like with The Cove and Fir Trees at Alldridge Point, I was inspired by the unrelenting beauty of East Sooke Park. It depicts another view from Alldridge Point. However it focuses on the ever-changing conditions experienced in the park as the weather systems from the Pacific Ocean blow into the Juan de Fuca Straight. I wanted to capture the moment when the Sun peaks around a passing winter system, before it is shrouded again by the next.”
