“This painting was inspired by the sandstone beach at Kanaka Bay on Saysutshun (Newcastle Island) near Nanaimo B.C. Due to an injury earlier in the year it was one of the few places I got to hike at this past summer. This shallow bay rests on a bed of sandstone which has an almost luminescent quality and gives the water a brilliant green tone”
