“Last Light at Landslide Lake”

“Landslide Lake is located at the base of Mount Colonel Foster in Strathcona Provincial Park on Vancouver Island. After a 9km hike which traversed swollen rivers and multiple recent avalanches, my partner and I reached Camp 2 and dropped off the majority of our gear before continuing the last 5km to Landslide Lake. We reached the lake just as the sun was setting behind the mountains. It’s turquoise water is truly unmatched in its brilliance as the last rays of sun cascaded through the jagged alpine peaks of Mount Colonel Foster.”
